Antique Porcelain Cake Plate with Blue Ribbons - Antoinette Mirabeau by Schlackenwerth Czechoslovakia
{HISTORY}
Antoinette + Mirabeau,... it sounds like the name of a lovely French bakery you might have found on the streets of Paris, doesn't it? In this instance, though those two names stand for shape and pattern. Ready for a zillion different kinds of award-winning blue ribbon desserts, this antique porcelain cake plate was made in Czechoslovakia by Schlackenwerth around the turn of the 20th century. Made in the Antoinette shape and featuring the Mirabeau pattern, this beautiful design is full of cottage charm.
A winning color combination of bright blue, orange pink, and yellow flowers adds bright cheer, while double gold bands and handles add elegant style.
Ready to display all your best desserts, this plate would be an ideal server for small cakes, cookies, brownies, petit fours, and homemade chocolates. When not in use, it doubles beautifully as a piece of wall decoration for your kitchen or dining area.
The Antoinette Mirabeau pattern is hard to find these days but once it was offered as a complete dinnerware set with lots of additional accessories including covered dishes, platters, bouillon cups, and more. What a pretty sight an entire set must have been!
