Whitman's Air-Bons...Fluffy, Refreshing Mint. Light as Air - Melt In Your Mouth.
{HISTORY}
Based in Philadelphia, Whitman's has been making chocolate candies and sweet treats for over a 150 years. A marvel of an American business story, Whitman's was started by teenager, Stephen F. Whitman, in 1872, who began his candy career selling sugared fruits and confectionery items on Philadelphia's bustling waterfront docks. Always popular as gift items, the company was successful from the beginning, expanding as demand grew. In addition to making popular treats, they were also highly innovative in their packaging. As the first company to introduce boxed chocolates and cellophane, Whitman's led the market on pretty, stylish and functional candy storage, making their tins and boxes highly collectible today.
This Air-Bons Mints tin was made during the 1950's. With red and white striped mints floating festively against a turquoise blue background and its fun vintage font, this 60+ year old tin radiates joy in all directions.
