Vintage Handcarved Decorative Decoy Swan by Jack Cox - Signed by the Artist
{HISTORY}
An absolute beauty when it comes to decorating mantles, tabletops, counters, and cupboards, this hand carved wooden swan was made by award-winning American woodcarver Jack Cox.
Known for his realistic wooden sculptures of ducks and water fowl, Jack has been hand carving decoys and decorative birds since the 1970s.
This black and white trumpeter swan was part of Jack’s decorative series and contains a unique weathered and chippy paint patina that is hard to find these days among his collectible pieces. Realistic glass eyes add lovely character, and felt cushions on the bottom of the bird add protection from scratches against surfaces.
Lovely tor year round decorating, the angle of this swan’s neck leaves plenty of room to tie a decorative ribbon, wreath, or garland for festive holiday display. An instant statement piece, she also looks beautiful tucked in with antique ironstone dish collections, on a shelf nestled in amongst potted plants, and on the table as a centerpiece surrounded by evergreen boughs and candles.
