A clever brand name created for a long-lasting textile company, Wilendur lived up to its name by ensuring that their high-quality linens would indeed endure for generations to come.

Founded in New York City in the 1920s, Weil & Durrse began making tablecloths in 1924. A combination of their last names, but also a fun pun, their Wilendur textile brand quickly became known for its high-quality, heavy cotton fabric and specially processed color-fast designs. 

Holding up to repeated washing, dabbing, scrubbing, and blotting in the best of ways, Wilendur became ideal household linens for everyday use. The colors didn’t bleed or fade, the fabric didn't shrink, and because the cotton was thick, it wasn't easily prone to ripping or tearing. That trifecta of engineering perfection led the Wilendur brand to become beloved linens in the mid-20th-century kitchen. Available in tablecloths, napkins, table runners, aprons and tea towels, they produced a wide range of colors and patterns that contained seasonal themes, along with flowers, fruit, farm, and vegetable motifs. 

This vintage Wilendur tablecloth dates to the pre-1957 era before Weil & Durrse added an e to the end to make it Wilendure. Featuring the Royal Rose pattern in yellow, this cloth has an interesting shadow effect behind each rose, giving the bouquets even more of a subtle golden glow. 

Sized at 54" inches (width) x 68" inches (length), it features twelve floral bouquets in total with a color palette that includes light grey, lemon yellow, pale yellow, emerald, and celadon against a bright white background. 

In fabulous vintage condition, it's ready to celebrate another 70 years of festive mealtime fun.

{CONDITION}

In fantastic vintage condition, this cloth contains no spots, stains, holes, rips or pulled thread. The cotton fabric is thick yet soft to the touch and washes and irons beautifully. Please see photos.
