{HISTORY}

Classic in its beauty and simplicity, this vintage mini pedestal planter is just the right size for table centerpiece decorating, shelf decor, and bar cart styling. 

Made in Italy with a stamped CPL mark on the bottom of the vase, it measures just over 5.5" inches in height with a diameter opening of 3.5" inches. Those proportions make it a great candidate for seasonal displays throughout the year, a vase for petite fresh-cut flower bouquets and a stylish holder for small potted plants like succulents, topiaries, and herbs. 

Eye-catching and balanced from all angles, there is quite a bit of embossed detailing for extra interest, and given its all white color palette, it's a natural fit for any sort of seasonal display from pumpkins in fall to berries and balsams in winter and flowering branches in spring. You might just be surprised how much creativity can spring from one small planter vase. 

CPL Italy is a bit mysterious as it to its origins. It was either an importer or a maker with ties to production in Italy. They specialized in lots of unique and decorative pieces for the kitchen including many hand painted plates and pitchers, serving pieces and tableware.

This mini planter might have been part of a pair at one point or a companion in a trio of planters available in graduated sizes, as we've seen a few others like this one but with larger proportions. That being said, like all classics in the kitchen, this one holds its own just fine and makes decorating not only fun but continuously interesting too.
