{HISTORY}

First started in 1903 by Fritz Thomas, the Thomas porcelain pottery produced some of the prettiest dishware in Bavaria.  A success from the start, Thomas quickly caught the attention of renowned German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal and the two carried on a partnership for most of the 20th century.   

These Thomas porcelain cups and saucers wee made between 1939-1952 and feature the prettiest cottage flower bouquet and color palette. With wide seafoam green bands on the rim of each cup and saucer, big pastel-hued flower bouquets at center, and shimmery gold filigree flowers in repetitive pattern, there is a lot to admire in this set. 

Delicate and lightweight, it's unique to see a dish pattern featured on the inside of a cup as opposed to the outside. Colors include seafoam, gold, spring green, pale pink, lavender, pale yellow, blueberry, and plum. Flowers in the bouquet feature roses, tulips, ranunculus, morning glories snapdragons, and wax flowers all set against an ivory background.

With just the right amount of shabby chic patina, this set is gorgeous for spring and summer entertaining, garden parties, and bridal teas, but there is absolutely no reason to just store these away for party time, we love this pattern for everyday use just as much as special events too.

{CONDITION}

In beautiful vintage condition, these cups and saucers contain no chips, cracks or staining. The gold floral filigree design on the inside rim of the cups is fading on the inside of each cup in ombre style as the pattern gets closer to the center bouquet. The gold detailing on the cup handles is wearing in some spots and the gold rim on the saucers is also fading. So aesthetically pleasing, these hallmarks of aging only make these cups and saucers look all the better. Timeworn in the most beautiful of ways, they are the epitome of aging gracefully. Each cup measures 4" inches (diameter). Each saucer measures 5.75" inches (diameter). Together, each cup and saucer weighs 8 oz.
