Vintage Teal Blue Cotton Kitchen Towel with Embroidered Boho Design
I'm curious about the mix of the effortless bohemian thing with the very modern. Matthew Williamson
In a bright and unusual teal blue shade that rests somewhere between peacock and turquoise, this vintage kitchen towel is a rare beauty on two fronts. First, for its color. Second, for its abstract embroidery design. With boho spirit and southwestern style, this cotton kitchen towel is just the helper you need when drying dishes, serving food or detailing your space with a dynamic splash of color.
A true marvel of needlework, the sewer of this piece was exceptionally talented, using a hemstitch for the embroidery. You'll notice in the photographs that there are barely any embroidery marks on the back of the towel. That is due in part to the hemstitich style which pulls thread from the entire cloth, line by line and then replaces what was pulled with an embroidered design. No easy feat, it is a difficult style to execute but stunning once completed.
