{HISTORY}

The love of embroidery always starts somewhere interesting. 

Sometimes it's an introduction through a friend, or an inherent desire to learn the art after spotting an embroidered piece in the wild, and sometimes it starts with a great kit and a pattern to follow. Back in the mid-20th century, when you were in the process of mastering your needlework skills and growing the confidence needed to one day embark on creating your own design, a pre-stamped tablecloth like this one turned out to be the greatest of teachers. 

A lesson in color, composition, and practice, practice, practice, these pre-stamped cloths offered structured guidance and encouragement as sewers stitched their way through a template. By work’s end, a colorful embroidered cloth wins the day and bolsters the sewer’s ability. 

Featuring a large flower basket design at each corner, this stamped-to-embroider tablecloth vignette highlights colors and six different stitch styles.  Pink, orange, yellow, and teal lazy daisy flowers fill a brown wicker basket, highlighting French knots, stem, blanket, scallop, running, and lazy daisy stitches.  

Printed on crisp, bright white cotton accented with an ecru colored cotton thread lace border, this almost square tablecloth is ideally sized for all sorts of decor styling. From card and puzzle table coverings to picnic overlays, sink skirts to craft projects, there's a bevy of different ways to showcase your finished embroidery once complete. We can’t wait to see how it all turns out.

{CONDITION}

In beautiful vintage condition, this cloth is clean and bright throughout with no spots, stains, holes, or pulled threads with the exception of one pencil-point-size rust mark towards the center of the tablecloth and three light pink tiny spots (less than 1/4" inch in diameter) inside one of the flower baskets near the pink daisies. Both of these areas can be embroidered over, but neither of them is very noticeable if you leave them as is. Please see photos.
