{HISTORY}

Once upon a time, a party was not complete without a pretty outfit and a pretty apron to match. That's where this vintage semi-sheer apron comes in. With its bright pink and green embroidered details and its scalloped edging, this little charmer was ready to party the day away while keeping its hostess clean and tidy. 

Made of soft ivory-colored cotton and pieced together with pink thread, it's fun to see the behind-the-scenes details of how this apron was put together on the reverse side with a bevy of tucks and folds and sections pieced together. Was this seamstress an expert sewer? Perhaps not, as not all the thread lines are straight, nor all the pieces symmetrically placed, but that doesn't matter. By the time the last stitch was sewn, it was a beauty of a homemade apron just the same.  

Most likely it was made by a teenager, given its youthful colors, small size, and still-learning technique. Perhaps it was a project worked on during her home ec class or maybe it was made specifically to coordinate with an event she was planning to host. Or maybe she was just simply practicing her sewing skills and endeavoring to make something useful in the process. Whichever the exact scenario, she managed to make something lovely in the end.

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition. No spots, stains or pulled threads. There is one small pinprick size hole (barely noticeable) near the embroidered dots along the bottom edge

Most likely this apron will fit an extra-small to small frame. The apron strings are on the shorter side, making it ideal to tie into a knot instead of a bow to secure at waist. Measurements are as follows when lying flat.

Across waist: 21.5" inches
