Vintage Pyrex Flameglo Mixing Bowl - 4 Quart Size #404 circa 1974-1976
Pyrex Ware... still worth discovering. (from a 1970s ad campaign)
{HISTORY}
The very first set of Pyrex mixing bowls debuted in the 1940s. It was a set of four nesting sizes that contained the primary colors yellow, red, green and blue. A popular and colorful kitchen set, these favorites kicked off production for decades of fun and colorful Pyrex mixing bowls in a variety of patterns and shades.
In 1974, Pyrex released the Flamglo shade - a gorgeous ombre-style hue that faded from red to orange. Warm, inviting, and cozy (especially for the fall and winter months), Flamego was only produced for three years but it reached bestseller status.
So pretty for farmhouse kitchens, midcentury moderns and any home cook that appreciates a bold aesthetic, this 4-quart size was the largest of the mixing bowls. Whether you are whipping up Sunday morning pancakes, your favorite Christmas cake, or stuffing for the Thanksgiving turkey, this dependable helper will make things easy breezy (and beautiful) from start to finish.

Flameglo looks really pretty with these vintage Corningware Spice of Life pieces thanks to a similar color match. Warm and cozy and colorful - just what your kitchen and your spirit needs this winter.
