{HISTORY}

Similar to patterns by Mikasa, Noritake, and Fukagawa, these mini porcelain  plates were made in Japan in the mid-20th century. Featuring a gold stripe and hand-painted pine cones and boughs and unmarked as to maker, we suspect they may have originally been part of a child's porcelain tea set.

Nowadays, they are the ideal size for cooking prep, individual butter pats, spoon rests and garnish trays as well as holders for tea bags and lemon slices during tea time.  

Here in The Vintage Kitchen, we love using mini helpers like these three as spice holders while cooking.  Nothing makes meal prep easier than having all your ingredients sorted out at the beginning. Whether it's a tablespoon of cumin or a teaspoon of sugar or 1/4 cup of dried oregano, mini plates like these three make life easier and prettier.

In soft autumn shades, these plates feature the soft color palette of pale lime, celadon, nutmeg, and cinnamon against a bright white background with a shimmery gold stripe around each rim.

{CONDITION}

In beautiful vintage condition, these plates contain no chips, cracks, spots, or stains. The gold stripe on each plate is shiny and shimmery.  There is a small black dot on the back of one plate. That is a natural component found in porcelain clay and is underneath the glaze. Please see photos.
