Vintage Noritake Craftone Joy Pattern Salad Plate circa 1970s
ALL GOOD THINGS ARE WILD AND FREE. HENRY DAVID THOREAU
{HISTORY}
Singing with all the shades of a gorgeous blue flower garden, this vintage 1970s Noritake Craftone salad plate features the Joy pattern line. Containing an array of blue and green shades, this plate is both functional serving ware and a pretty piece of wall art all in one. The Joy pattern debuted in 1975, and was in production for just a limited amount of time - four years to be exact. After 1979 it was discontinued, which makes it a hard to find pattern these days. This plate was made in 1977.
Noritake has been synonymous with quality dishware manufacture and design for over 100 years. Besides their longevity, what is most interesting about the Noritake brand is their breadth of design choices when collecting vintage pieces, many of which were handpainted and contain exquisite details.
Depending on your personal style and perhaps the colors in your kitchen, it is fun to collect these vintage pieces, in a mix and match way, one that reflects your passion for collecting and your desire to be unique.
Does food taste better on a pretty plate? Absolutely! Is it liberating to break away from the same basic set of matching plates you've been using for years? Yes, yes and yes! We encourage you to embrace your inner bohemian and pick your dishware collection plate by plate. Start with joy and see where the road to kitchen happiness takes you.
