Made in Tuscany by Frosintex of 100% cotton, this vintage kitchen tea towel features green and grey stripes, and an embroidered mushroom and chestnut with the word boseo stitched underneath.

Interestingly, the Italian word bosco means woodlands, which would be very fitting for these hand-stitched characters of the forest floor. But in Korean, the word boseo means mushroom, and since this kitchen linen clearly features an e instead of a c, we can only imagine that this was an Italian towel of Korean sentiment. How fun! 

You don't often hear about Korean-Italian connections when it comes to a single heirloom, so that makes this linen delightfully unique. And also very colorful. Large in size, it features a palette of sea green, light grey, olive, chocolate, lemon yellow, and tomato red hues against a bright white background. 

Since the embroidery is off-center and located just at the bottom corner, this linen is especially pretty for artistically styled kitchen display, tray service, autumn decorating, and tablescape designs.

Beautifully made of heavy cotton with a hemmed edge, Frosintex has been making and manufacturing an assortment of textiles for home use since 1982 in Pistoia, Italy. This area of Tuscany is part of the Prato Textile District, which includes several connected cities and towns known for their textile manufacturing operations, fabric mills, and yarn production. 

Since this linen seems to be entirely one of a kind, we can't offer a specific date of manufacture, but if we had to guess, we would estimate it was made sometime in the 1990s.

In beautiful vintage condition, this tea towel is very clean and bright with no spots, stains, or holes. The embroidery stitching is strong and secure with no loose threads. Please see photos.
