Vintage Johnnie Walker Wood Crate - Miniature Pint Size Red Label Whisky Box
Born 1820 - still going strong... (a vintage ad campaign for Johnnie Walker Blended Scotch Whisky)
{HISTORY}
Created by a real life Scottish teenager turned savvy grocer, in 1820, Johnnie Walker whisky has been been an iconic symbol of cocktail time for two hundred years. As the most recognized blended scotch whisky in the world, this iconic brand is a symbol of a well-stocked bar and a refined palate.
Made in the 1960's for use as a shipping container for their miniature 4/10th pint bottles, this sturdy wood crate with its fabulous graphics and handsome red-coated Johnnie Walker portrait, is an ideal organizer for all sorts of purposes and places. Of course, your bar cart or liqueur cabinet is a natural choice, holding onto such things as cocktail napkins, bar accessories, coasters, etc., but other purposes suit this box just fine as well. At one point in time it held onto a previous owner's hardware, as evidenced by the word "nails," written in pencil on one side.
Made of strong solid panels of wood, not slats, and held together with eight flat head nails, this is a super sturdy box that has an infinite amount of possible uses, both practical and whimsical. It's petite size also makes it in an ideal storage container for small spaces.
