So colorful, this bright and cheery handmade nautical wall tile features a beautiful scene of picturesque Lake Balaton. Represented by a Hungarian arts cooperation called Iparmuveszeti Vallalat, this thick clay tile was made by a local Hungarian artist during the mid-20th century and was most likely originally purchased as a souvenir by a traveling visitor. 

Located in Hungary, Balaton is Europe's largest lake and is known for its wonderful agricultural wine regions and rich history making it a popular destination for travelers around the globe. This tile features a houseboat floating along the lake with colorful wineries and the famous rolling vineyard hills in the background. Proudly displaying the Hungarian flag onboard ship, the colors featured here are a gorgeous mix of unexpected shades that are at once vintage but also fresh and modern. They include an enchanting blend of turquoise, navy blue, tomato red, black, almond,  mustard, coffee, teal and mint green, all set with a shiny glaze and raised detailing for added texture.

Signed by the artist on back and featuring the vintage Iparmuveszeti Vallalat gallery sticker, this is a lovely piece of wall art for nautical decor enthusiasts, wine lovers, and jet-setters alike.

In beautiful vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks. The glaze is very shiny and the tile, strong and sturdy.
