Vintage Hall China Tilted Ball Pitcher - Dark Teal Color circa 1960s-1970s
{HISTORY}
A kitchen classic since the 1930s, this vintage tilted ball pitcher was one of the most well-loved pieces in Hall China's catalogue of dishware.
Available in a wide range of colors and patterns, this style pitcher known as #633, was manufactured from the 1930s to the 1970s. With its clean lines, cute, round shape, and classic appeal, no matter what the decade, the circumstance, or the season, Hall's tilted ball pitcher was always eternally stylish, and effortlessly helpful.
Slight changes to the design, to the handle placement, and to the direction in which the pitcher was oriented occurred here and there across forty years of manufacture but the overall composition of this curvy little cutie remained reliably consistent throughout its four-decade run.
Vibrant, dark, and rich as far as colors go, we have seen this deep teal shade described as spruce green, forest green, dark blue, and turquoise. But according to our present-day universal language of color. dark teal is the most accurate description these days. Not quite as blue as peacock, not quite as green as the Mediterranean Sea, this pitcher sits somewhere right in the middle of those two hues on the color wheel.
A dynamic shade but also very neutral, this teal color looks just as great with golden yellows and magenta pinks, as it does with tangerine orange and cherry red offering lots of unique possibilities when it comes to incorporating it into your design aesthetic.
Given its delightful shape and wonderful color, it's no wonder this pitcher was such a popular part of the serving set for most of the 20th century.
