{HISTORY}

A vintage toolbox is a little bit like a superhero. In stature, it is unsuspecting, humble, uncomplicated. But in ability, it is mighty powerful and always ready to get a task done.  Whether it's fixing the broken fence post, repairing an electrical outlet or building a brand new house, the toolbox of past decades is stuffed not just with wrenches and screwdrivers and hammers and nails but also with time, talent and tenacity. And many hidden stories.

This one in particular features a hinged lid, a roomy interior, and three latches for extra secure closure. Containing just the right amount of rust to give it character, it is void of any manufacturing information or personal ownership paraphernalia. That lends a little mystery and creates a playground for daydreams of just where this toolbox came from and who owned it and what jobs it accomplished.

Here in the Vintage Kitchen, we especially love to tote vintage toolboxes around the garden. Ideally sized for hand shears, mini shovels, clippers, gloves, floral wire, and other necessities they are a heavy-duty hardworking box that keeps garden tools tidy and easily accessible. A metal composition also helps keep critters away if you are looking for a safe and secure place to store your seeds.

{CONDITION}

In strong and sturdy shape, this all-metal toolbox is fully operational. Both of the hinged flaps at the top of the box work but the handle side flap operates much more smoothly than the other flap. All three latches are in working order and easily close and secure the box. There are various rust patches - mostly seen on the interior. Please see photos.
