

Vintage Gloria Fine Porcelain Pineapple Fruit Plate - Echt Gold Made in Western Germany
{HISTORY}
Displaying the universal symbol of hospitality, this vintage gold-rimmed plate features a pretty pineapple nestled amongst clusters of grapes, cherries and plums. An appealing presentation plate, large enough in size to serve cheese and crackers, charcuterie or an artistic sampling of dried fruits and nuts, this plate was made by the Gloria Fine Porcelain Company in West Germany sometime between the 1940s-1990s.
A family run pottery since the 1920s, Gloria dishware could be found in all the stylish resort towns around Germany up until WWII when the family was forced to flee their hometown of Altrohlau. Their factory which contained all their work, materials and equipment built up over two decades was lot to the war, but the family's courageous spirit and passion for porcelain propelled them into building a new studio from the ground up in their new location in Bavaria. There the company has remained ever since. Still in business today, Gloria is now run by the fourth generation of the Weidl family.
Representing generosity, gracious hospitality, and good cheer you can never have too many pineapples in the kitchen. In addition to food service, this dish also makes a beautiful display piece given its large size and colorful palette.

{CONDITION}
In beautiful vintage condition, this plate features no chips, cracks, spots or staining. The gold rim around the edge is in almost shape, with just the slightest of lighest rub marks (barely noticeable) in a few areas . Please see photos.
