Vintage Fiesta Mini Disc Pitcher in Tangerine circa 2003-2017
{HISTORY}
Brightening kitchens since 1936, Fiestaware was the brainchild of Homer Laughlin's British-American design director Frederick H. Rhead (1880–1942). Already a well-reputed pottery designer in America before going to work at Homer Laughlin, Frederick came from a long line of pottery designers back in England.
At Homer Laughlin, he designed several popular patterns, including another American favorite, Virginia Rose, and a few Eggshell pieces, but it was his Fiestaware that would become his most well-known. Originally debuting in five colors— Radioactive Red, Old Ivory, Yellow, Navy Blue, and Light Green— dish collectors fell in love with the cheerful mix-and-match colors and streamlined style that made Fiestaware such a charismatic part of daily midcentury kitchen life.
Popular through the early 1970s, Fiestaware came in a rainbow of colors with new shades added continuously to follow in step with popular color trends of the day and the decade. Gone but not completely forgotten from the manufacturing schedule by the mid-1970s, Fiestaware was reintroduced again in 1986 via a collaboration with Bloomingdale’s department store. Again, it became a popular bestseller with a whole new range of color choices destined to light up counters and tabletops around the country.
Today, the Fiestaware line boasts 61 different colors in total from 1936 all through 2026 and highlights color trends spanning ninety years of American kitchen history. This mini disc pitcher is a petite 4 oz. version of Fiesta's full-size pitcher, making it a cute companion for a wide variety of serving needs. In production between 2003–2017, it features the Tangerine shade, which sits on the color scale between Butterscotch and Poppy.
With its 1/2 cup capacity, this mini helper is great for use as an individual creamer, a honey or syrup server, a fresh-cut flower vase, and also a mini, measured watering can for anyone who tends to overwater their indoor plants.
