Vintage Embroidered Cherries Tablecloth 35x36
Cherries came to the United States shortly after the arrival of Christopher Columbus. Today, cherries grown in America account for 1/3rd of the global marketplace.
There is something really fun about the fact that the word cherry is so closely related to the word cheery, don't you think?!
That's exactly what this vintage square tablecloth represents. Hand embroidered in Germany with a ring of 16 floating cherries along the outer edges, this cotton cloth was made for all sorts of entertainment purposes.
Putting the fun in food, it's an ideal size for kitchen, dessert, and game tables or can be incorporated into your picnic blanket collection. If you are of the crafty sewing sort you may even imagine repurposing it as a cafe curtain, apron, or other functional kitchen linen.
Possibilities await when you have a bunch of cheery cherries on hand!
- Contains 16 sets of cherries and four independent floating green leaves
- The cherries create a non-touching embroidered ring around the edge of the cloth leaving the center part of the cloth blank
- Cotton material
- Intentional frayed edge
In lovely vintage condition. The cloth is clean and bright with no spots or stains except for two pin-sized rust marks (very light) near one corner of the cloth. The embroidery threads are strong, tight and bright with color. There are two very small holes (less than 1/4th of an inch in length) near one corner. Please see photos.
