Vintage Embroidered Bridge Tablecloth with Broderie Eyelet Cutwork and French Knot Embroidery
Many games provide fun. But Bridge grips you. Omar Shariff
{HISTORY}
Once upon a time, this is what a get-together looked like in the land of vintage life. When the ladies came over for a bridge game or mahjong or any series of afternoon musings of the club gathering kind, this is the type of tablecloth that would be laid out to entertain the crowd.
Made of delicate linen and featuring a series of floral broderie style eyelet cutwork designs and French knot embroidery executed with pale blue threads, this tablecloth is a beauty in both appearance and construction. Sized at 32" inches x 34" inches, there are two matching tablecloths available in this same pattern, but each is sold separately.
These two linens came from the collection of a Minnesota seamstress who not only was a master of beautiful needlework herself but who also curated a collection of vintage and antique linens over the course of her life for her own enjoyment. An arbiter of excellent taste, she knew quality work when she saw it. Beautifully cared for throughout the 20th century, these two tablecloths are in wonderful shape, with not a stitch out of place or a spot to be seen. And they definitely ready to see the return of social gatherings once again, whether you choose to invite the gals over for game day or you incorporate them into your own special party plans, they'll add an elegant touch to all your festivities.
