The personality of a house is indefinable, but there never lived a lady of great cultivation and charm whose home, whether a palace, a farm-cottage or a tiny apartment, did not reflect the charm of its owner. Emily Post, 1925

{HISTORY}

Made in Holland in the 1950s for Daher, a US-based gift packaging company headquartered in Long Island, New York, these two vintage floral plates are picnic basket approved thanks to their petite size and lightweight.

Containing beautiful bouquets of vibrant florals and a decorative rim, these two are mini works of art in both detail and color palette, making them just as pretty for wall art as well as table service. Sharing similar colors but different arrangements, we love their complementary, mix-and-match style.

Colors on both plates include Vienna green, gold, blueberry, butter, pale yellow, tomato red, spring green, mustard, pale blue, blush, white, cream, and tangerine. One bouquet looks more like a still-life painting, the other resembles more of a finely detailed botanical drawing, and each contains different designs around the edge.

The hallmark of Daher tins was always their vibrant color palettes, shimmery aesthetic, and gorgeous designs. In operation from the 1940s to the 1980s,  all of their tinware was designed in Long Island, NY but manufactured in England or Holland. Although they changed names to The Tin Box Company in the 1980s, the love of vintage Daher tinware has yet to wane.

We like to think it's because they add an instant splash of color and glamour to any kitchen or picnic.
