Vintage Ceramic Bunny Rabbit Cotton Ball Holder - Table Centerpiece - Easter Decor
You must be very kind to him and teach him all he needs to know in Rabbit-land, for he is going to live with you forever and ever. (except from the Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams)
Like the Velveteen Rabbit himself, this story of this one vintage ceramic bunny comes with two lives. Originally, in the mid-19th century, he started out as a whimsical cotton ball holder and dispenser sitting pretty atop a lady's vanity counter. Certainly he could still be utilized for such a service today, but here in the Vintage Kitchen, we think he has the ability to take on a whole new task as a handsome centerpiece for springtime tables and Easter decor.
With his long ears, pink eyes, and delicate crazing, he captures all the sweetness of the season simply and subtly and without much fuss. Nestle him into a green grass wonderland or a colorful Easter egg collection and and watch him delightfully set the stage for a holiday spectacular.
A bit of a manufacturing mystery, this vintage bunny comes with no makers mark on his cardboard base. But fear not. Like all good heroes of history, he's timeless in his charm and winning in character. And he forever promises to remain just as sweet and lovely fifty years from now as he appears here before you today.
