Our last batch of vintage feed and flour sacks featuring the blue blossom and pink rosebud pattern has arrived!

Dating to the 1930s-1940s era, these three fabric bags originally held household pantry staples like flour, sugar, rice, beans, and grain. Part of a marketing collaboration between food manufacturers and consumers, these fabric bags filled a need during challenging economic times brought on by the Great Depression and WWII, when supplies were scarce, and thriftiness was an art form. 

Transformed into a wealth of everyday items, these cotton fabric sacks were repurposed into clothing, aprons, quilts, curtains, toys, table linens, and practically everything else in between. In those lean times of economic challenge, there was no underestimating the creativity of early 20th-century sewing enthusiasts, especially when it came to repurposing cotton fabric into useful household necessities. 

In absolutely gorgeous condition,  each of these three fabrics is in its original full sack form, which means they are stitched into a bag shape that is enclosed on three sides with an open end on the 4th side, like a pillowcase. 

Featuring a repetitive pattern that contains small, closely spaced pink roses and blue flowers that are .75" inches in diameter, colors in this fabric include light teal blue, light pink, dark pink, and emerald green. 

So pretty for a host of sewing projects, clothing repair, and artistic creativity, we can't wait to hear all about what you make with your new vintage fabric.

Each fabric is in beautiful vintage condition with no spots, stains, holes or rips. The fabric is very clean and bright and the colors are vibrant.
