Reading through Aynsley's catalogue of pattern names is like taking a trip through the U.K.'s castle lands.
Balmoral, Windsor, Marlborough, Castleford Blue, Buckingham, Queen's Garden, Royalty Green... those are just a few names that hint at the pagentry behind each plate or cup, saucer or bowl.
Befitting of their maker, a famed British ceramics manufacturer first founded in 1775, these Aynsley dishes contain dynamic color plettes, gold detailing, and lots of colorful, elegant florals that reflect the enduring beauty of the classic British aesthetic.
This set of four salad plates captures all the remarkable beauty of the Aynsley aesthetic but without a fancy name, a practice that was common in the later years of the company's production history. Simply known as pattern number 2146, it came in at least two known color variations, blue and red. These salad plates feature the red palette with a deep cardinal red band around the rim, gold filigree along the shoulder, and a pink rose bouquet at the center. So pretty for the fall and winter months, this set is just lovely for holiday soirees that take you straight from Thanksgiving all the way through to Valentine's Day.
In absolutely gorgeous condition, this looks practically brand new with shimmery gold detailing and shiny overall glazes that reflect candlelight and natural light in the most beautiful of ways.

A favorite dishware manufacturer prized by collectors and royal families around the globe, including Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth, and Princess Diana, this luxury maker set the scene for memorable meals for 235 years before the company ceased operations in 2014.
Although it retains a pattern that is fitting with earlier styles, this set was made sometime after 1970. {CONDITION}
In beautiful vintage condition, these plates look practically brand new and contain no chips, cracks, spots or staining. The gold filigree is is completely intact on all plates and is very shiny and shimmery. One center floral is missing one tip of one of the leaves but this is practically unnoticeable.
