Isn't that a lovely quote above? Real character and genuine worth. Two delightful words when it comes to food and apparel in the kitchen. Harriet was of course speaking of real roses grown in the ground but its sentiment applies to vintage cloth-covered roses just the same.

A good apron is like a treasured companion in the kitchen. Sometimes it's years before you realize just how much you love a certain swatch of cotton that has helped you create countless meals in the kitchen. Other times, it's an instant, easy love affair between cook and cover that lasts a lifetime.

This vintage half apron with its deep yellow and rust-colored roses and its dark-trimmed ricrac pockets is one of those that makes you fall instantly in love. Back in the days when every home cook had a drawer bursting with a variety of aprons, there would have been a selection to choose from for the task, the time of year or the outfit you were wearing.

This one would have been pulled out in the autumn months when there were breads to make, apples to core and pumpkin pies to bake. Containing the loveliest colors of the season and trimmed in butternut and lemon yellows, it captures all the timeless charm and gorgeous shades of the season year after year after year.

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition. The colors are all crisp and bright. There are no holes, rips or stains. There are some spots along the yellow waistband and ties of a dark greyish color that reflects the black ricrac trim sewn between the layers and then also some areas of slight fading around the ricrac at the sides.
