Vintage Aqua Embroidered Tea Towel - Citrus Colors for a Sunshine Kitchen
Cooking in summer should provide one with particular aesthetic pleasure. Judith Olney, 1978
Citrus colors for a sunshine morning - that's what this vintage embroidered linen sings about each day! Featuring floral embroidery mixed in with snowball-like dots that have been stitched on soft aqua-hued linen fabric and complete with a hemstitched edge, this vintage tea towel-sized kitchen cloth is a true dazzler in the good cheer department. Part of an heirloom collection of linens curated by a Minnesota seamstress throughout the 20th century, this cloth of course can be used for an endless amount of serving situations and display possibilities. But if we had our choice in the ideal situation department we'd say, this linen was sunnyside bound to a tropical island cottage bathed in shades that speak of summer and the sea.
As a sewer herself, the previous collector had a good eye for collecting quality linens that were beautifully executed in the vintage linen department. One-of-a-kind designs like this are a joy among collectors not only for their details but the sheer cheer they bring to a place and a space.
Breakfast never looked so inspiring when paired with this vintage beauty!
