Vintage Anchor Hocking Tall Glasses with Green Leaves & Ric Rac Design - Set of Two
A vintage glass is both a joy and a wonder. Especially tall glasses like these. Accommodating a variety of beverages... milk, lemonade, water, iced tea, cocktails, spritzers, juice and fruit coolers, these two were everyday ordinary but also now are a little bit extraordinary because they've survived decades, unharmed, unmarred and in pretty wonderful condition. With their watermelon green color, retro leaf and ricrac designs, they are classic and sweet and full of charm. They hold stories of fun times enjoyed long ago but also foretell special moments to come. A glass is a glass until it becomes a storyteller. These two hold many. And look forward to holding many more.
Since 1905, Anchor Hocking has been decorating kitchens with functional (and pretty!) bakeware for over a century. Initially started by Isaac Collins in Lancaster, Ohio under the name Hocking Glass Company, a merger in the late 1930's with Anchor Cap Company changed the name to Anchor Hocking and kept Isaac busy in the office and on the executive board for an amazing 65 years before he retired in 1973 at the age of 98. Six years ago, Anchor Hocking merged with flatware designer Oneida, another century-old leader in the cutlery industry. These mixing bowls not only represent a slice of vintage Americana but also they are a lovely example of the quality and commitment offered by the leading glass maker of the 20th century.
