A complete set of tea for two, this miniature porcelain toy tea set was the delight of a little one's day in the mid-20th century.

Featuring a blue and white landscape scene on the front complete with houses, trees, birds, and a country lane, this set is comprised of a teapot with a removable lid, two teacups, two saucers, and a matching sugar bowl and creamer.

All you need to set the stage for a magical tea party, this dainty, delicate and sweetly nostalgic little set will keep your little one entertained in creative play for hours. It's also a fun set for decorating a nursery or kid's room, as well as a whimsical display piece for the kid-at-heart who appreciates the scale and sentimental appeal of a mini set made for tea time.

Made in Japan somewhere around the mid-20th century mark, this serving set is stamped with the country mark on the bottom of each piece. There is no reference to any specific maker or manufacturer, but most likely these nine pieces came in a boxed set brought home to an American kiddo by a family member stationed in Japan during the WWII years. 

To add to their whimsical nature, nowadays these vintage sets also make great planters and bud vases for mini succulents, air plants, and flower blossoms. Always an engaging conversation piece, we love to see them displayed in bookcases and dollhouses, with dishware collections, and in tea/coffee nooks where a little dose of imagination is always welcome.

{CONDITION}

Considering that these were once kids’ toys, they are in remarkably lovely condition. Clean and bright inside and out, there are no chips or cracks with the exception of a tiny chip on the rim of one saucer and a barely there hairline crack on the front of the teapot at the rim. This little crack measures 1/4 " inch in length. There is a small amount of light staining on the inside bottom of the teapot. Please see photos.

The teapot measures 3” inches (height) x 4" inches (length) x 1/5" inches (width). The sugar bowl and creamer both measure 1.25" inches (height) x 1.75" inches -2" inches (length) x .75" inches (width). The teacups measure 1.75" inches (diameter) x 1" inch (height) and the saucers measure 2.5" inches (diameter). In total, this set weighs 9 oz.
