A cheerful way to start the day with multi-color blossoms.... (from a 1975 ad campaign for Heinrich's Primavera pattern)

{HISTORY}

Loaded with springtime charm and bright botanical appeal, this vintage serving bowl was made in Germany by the porcelain manufacturer Heinrich & Co in the early to mid-1970s.

Large in size with a wide shallow shape, this beautiful clear glass bowl features an array of spring blooms that include iris, tulips, daffodils, and poppies. The floral bouquet of this Primavera pattern was available in bright white porcelain and clear glass pieces offering lots of possibilities in the mix-and-match department.

Made just a few years before Heinrich & Co merged with German ceramics manufacturer Villeroy & Boch in 1976. Interestingly, this Primavera pattern has also been associated with Sigma, a New York giftware importer, and Dorothy Thorpe, a 20th century glass designer who handpainted floral motifs on glass in her California design studio during the 1930s. Although similiar, this bowl is not attributed to the later two yet comes directly from the German Heinrich & Co manufacturing factory.

Ideal for spring and summer decorating, the size and shape of this bowl is perfect for use as a countertop fruit bowl, a table centerpiece, or a colorful display piece.

{SPECIAL FEATURES}

 - Primavera pattern

- Colors include tangerine, sky blue, pale maueve, celadon, lavender, lemon yellow, black and teal

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition, this bowl features no chips or cracks. There a few insignificant scratches at the bottom of the bowl which are not noticeable when the bowl is sitting flat on hard surface, as you'll see in the photos. Most likely those minor scratches were caused by the bowl being picked up and set down on a number of surfaces over five decades. Difficult to photograph, we included one that makes them look a bit more dramatic then they actually are. Plaese see photos.
