One fish, many possibilities...

{HISTORY}

Swimming into the shop from 1972, this vintage fish-shaped aluminum cake pan was made in 1972 by Wilton, America's beloved cake decorating company. 

First founded in the 1920s, the Wilton School of Cake Decorating began in Chicago with a mission to teach pastry chefs and home bakers the beautiful art of confectionary design. The school was an immediate success, churning out talented cake decorators from around the world. The Wilton family also sold tools, forms, fabrics, and embellishments for unique cake designs which helped expand their brand and promote their commitment to building aesthetically pleasing cakes. Bakery books, how-to manuals, and decorating DIY guides soon followed, The more the Wilton family offered, the more home bakers wanted. Still in business today, it remains a trusted brand for high-quality baking utensils, fun designs, and insightful tutorials. 

Intricately textured and whimsically shaped, this fish offers loads of creativity when it comes to decorating. Some vintage bakers were inspired by koi ponds and Asian motifs and set this fish to swim on a table with other uniquely shaped fish in uniquely shaped molds. Other bakers created theme parties for the cabin dwellers, the nature lovers and the fisherman in their lives who enjoyed a good cake and delightful celebration all in one. Thanks to the built-in hanger, this fish also became a lovely piece of kitchen art too when not whipping up something sweet to eat.

{CONDITION}

In absolutely lovely vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks or corrosive scratches. The aluminum is shiny and bright and the hanger is securely fashioned.
