Vintage 1960s Moon River Sheet Music from Breakfast at Tiffany's
This a love sung to wanderlust. Robert Wright
{HISTORY}
When Johnny Mercer first wrote this now iconic song in 1960, his lyrics reflected his nostalgic childhood growing up along the river banks in Savannah, GA. Audrey Hepburn made it famous in her own lovely lonesome way a year later as Holly Golightly in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. In 1963, it won a Grammy for Song of the Year. And the rest, as they say, is history. Now one of the most recognized melodies around the world, Moon River is as beloved by music fans as it is by movie buffs.
Audrey's character, Holly Golightly, was an infectious spirit and a grand example of living life on your own terms and in your own way. This 1961 four page folio sheet music captures all her charm in retro style. It was published by Famous Music Corporation, the music publishing division of Paramount Pictures which was founded in 1928. Fun for movie buffs, music lovers, Audrey Hepburn fans and vintage pop culture collectors or anyone really who dreams of their own little moment of breakfast at Tiffany's, this vintage piece of music and movie memorabilia makes a great gift - either for yourself or someone else:)

{CONDITION}
With just the right amount of age to give it interesting vintage patina, this sheet music is in great shape considering it's over 65 years old. There's a small green ink squiggle on the front near the kissing couple, previous owner's name written on the top inside corner, a colored in "o" in Moon on the inside song title and two small brown stains on the inside near the bottom of the page. The back page also has some discoloration due to age. None of these flaws affect the overall appeal of this vintage collectible. Please see photos for details.
