{HISTORY}
Back before there were automatic dishwashers that washed and dried all your kitchen dishes, there was a sink full of soapy water, a sponge and your best collection of kitchen towel drying cloths. And there was you standing at the sink every day and night, hand washing and drying your way to a clean kitchen. If you wanted to hurry this process along, you would use absorbent Martex dry-me-dry towels to wipe all the water from your kitchenware. First introduced in the 1930's this special blend of fabrics from Martex was revolutionary - providing a more absorbent cloth that left behind no lint and easily polished ceramics and glassware to a shiny brightness.
This vintage Martex dish towel dates to the 1960s and features a Mediterranean food theme complete with fish, fresh fruit, salad, garlic, olives and onion. In a pretty shade of beige (originally referred to as sand dune) it combines the colors of aqua, peach, brown, beige and white for pretty aesthetic bursting with whimsical midcentury style.
