Vintage 1960s Martex Dry-Me-Dry Dish Towel - Salad Fish Fruit and Onions
A scientific balanced construction of cotton, spun-rayon and linen makes Dry-Me-Dry do more dishes and do them faster than any dish towel you ever used. Even a man can do a good job with Martex Dry-Me-Dry. (from a 1937 Martex Advertisement)
Back before there were automatic dishwashers that washed and dried all your kitchen dishes, there was a sink full of soapy water, a sponge and your best collection of kitchen towel drying cloths. And there was you standing at the sink every day and night, hand washing and drying your way to a clean kitchen. If you wanted to hurry this process along, you would use absorbent Martex dry-me-dry towels to wipe all the water from your kitchenware. First introduced in the 1930's this special blend of fabrics from Martex was revolutionary - providing a more absorbent cloth that left behind no lint and easily polished ceramics and glassware to a shiny brightness.
