Vintage 1950s Universal Ballerina Tea Cups in Dove Gray - Set of Four
BALLERINA LENDS ITSELF - BLENDS ITSELF - TO REFLECT YOUR WAY OF LIFE... (FROM A 1950s UNIVERSAL BALLERINA ADVERTISEMENT)
{HISTORY}
In the early 1950s, Universal Pottery introduced their Ballerina line - a graceful, elegant dishware collection that came in a variety of designer colors so that buyers could mix and match pieces with ease and confidence. Available in shades of Chartreuse, Forest Green, Dove Gray, and Burgundy, these color combos ensured eye-catching combinations, and their minimalist style ensured that they'd coordinate with other patterns no matter what the design.
Made in Cambridge, OH, the Ballerinas were effortlessly convenient in the kitchen. The series was made for the distinct ability to go straight from fridge to oven to table in one felt swoop thanks to Universal's patented glazing process. Thanks to that attention to glazing detail, this dishware line has traveled the decades beautifully, without much wear and tear or signs of age.
This set of four hard-to-find tea cups and saucers in the gorgeous dove gray shade is a beauty of both form and function. Ideal for modern home decor and minimalist collectors, this set offers just the right amount of understated glamour and simple style.
