Vintage 1940s Hamilton Beach Drinkmaster Milkshake Machine #30 - Working Condition - Jadeite Green
{HISTORY}
"My parents got this milkshake maker as a wedding gift in 1947. After the war, there was a flood of home appliances, often imitating professional restaurant equipment.
In the early 1960s, my parents lived on the west side of Akron, in a mid-century house well-equipped for entertaining in the style of Mad Men. They had an outdoor grill, a pool, and a large screened patio. My father loved to entertain and through the summer months he would have the gang over often. Back then, people didn’t worry as much about the ice cream they ate (or how much alcohol they drank!) and the point of entertaining was to give people amazing food. Milkshakes would have been part of that. The ice cream might have been from Mary Coyle’s in Highland Square, a beloved Akron institution founded in 1937. So many great memories circle around this machine as we watched shakes being made and enjoyed by everyone."
Thanks to its quality craftsmanship and wonderful care, this Drinkmaster is still in working condition and will carry on making delicious drinks for decades more to come. Cheers to a whole new generation of collectors and milkshake aficionados.
