Vintage 1940s Floral Deviled Egg Dish by E & R American Art Ware
{HISTORY}
Cheers to the devilled egg!
Star of barbeque and buffet, picnic and potluck, and just about every type of party you can imagine for decades and decades, there's no passionate protein lover who doesn't enjoy a delicious deviled egg.
Every food favorite deserves its own serving dish and none are quite as creatively designed as a deviled egg dish. This one, made for Philadelphia import company Ebeling & Reuss in the 1940s, features 12 wells, a floral center, and an embossed scallop around the edge.
Heavy in weight, this dish was made in Europe - possibly Czechoslovakia or Germany, as Ebeling and Reuss built a long-standing reputation of specializing in sourcing dishware from high-quality manufacturers throughout Europe.
Whether your technique involves boiling, blending, and stuffing six eggs for open-faced presentation or a full dozen for sandwich style tops and bottoms, this dish promises to make your perfectly fine-tuned recipe the favorite of the table and the time.
