Vintage 1930s Square Porcelain Salad Plates By Victoria & Royal China - Set of Three
{HISTORY}
Boasting the bright, bold color of freshly harvested celery, these vintage 1930s porcelain salad plates were made in Karlsbad, Czechoslovakia by Victoria Porcelain (aka Porzellanfabrik Victoria AG) and decorated by Royal Crown.
Featuring an array of beautifully detailed florals, they are just the right type of servers to brighten up a kitchen or a table with a pretty burst of citrus colors. Containing shades of tangerine, celadon, amethyst, lilac, grape, mulberry, lemon, sage, lime, mustard, and pale blue, all three plates contain a unique combination of transferware and handpainted elements giving each one its own personality.
Shabby chic in all the best ways, these dishes have seen some active use in their day, which gives them an extra layer of a time-worn aesthetic that is just lovely in contrast with the energetic color palette.
Similar to the architectural old-world ambiance of Havana's historic districts, this trio is beautifully aged and elegant all at once making them lovely decorative pieces just as much as table servers.
{SPECIAL FEATURES}
- Matching set of three with slightly different handpainted floral bouquet arrangements
- All three plates are stamped on back with the decorator's mark (Royal Crown). One plate also features the maker's mark (Victoria)
{CONDITION}
In lovely shabby chic condition, these plates contain no chips or cracks with the exception of two small chips on the back of one plate at the rim, which was most likely caused by a plate hanger. There are rub marks around the inner rim where the green color meets the center white. The floral bouquets retain slight color fading/wear on two of the plates. Please see photos.
{SIZE}
Each plate measures 8.25" (length) x 8.25" inches (width) and 13 oz.
