Vintage 1920s Art Deco Porcelain Teacup - Diana Pattern - Royal Austria
Deepest of all in her personality was the golden radiance that she diffused around her. As an open fire in a dark room throws romance and pathos into the quiet faces at its edge, so she casts her lights and shadows around the rooms that held her. F Scott Fitzgerald
{HISTORY}
So full of art deco style, this beautiful 1920s-era porcelain tea cup and saucer was made by the Austrian pottery of brothers, Oscar and Edgar Gutherz, who worked under the name O & E.G. Royal Austria, Financed by German-American immigrant/ceramics importer Lazarus Straus, the Gutherz brothers built up quite a reputation for creating some of the finest porcelain dishware in the world.
Producing porcelain blanks for hand-painting hobbyists in America, as well as their own collection of in-house decorated designs, O & E. G. had consistency and quality at the helm of all their endeavors. This cup and saucer features the Diana pattern - a delicately hand-painted design of pale pink flower-like petals inside a thick gold band.
Great Gatsby approved, this vintage design has the glory of the roaring 20s written all over it. Balanced, beautiful and artistic, it's a porcelain heirloom that represents the exquisite style of the 1920s.
