Vintage 1960s Glasbake Loaf Pan Dish - 1 1/2 Quart Size
{HISTORY}
The history of this milk glass dish dates all the way back to the early 1900s, even though the dish itself wasn't made until the 1960s. A competitor to Pyrex, Glasbake dishes were created by the McKee Glass Company beginning in 1917 to assist home cooks with storage, serving, and cooking needs.
With the ability to do three kitchen jobs at once, Glasbake dishware could go straight from the fridge to the oven to the table without breaking, a thrifty time-saving and space-saving concept. The McKee Glass Company and the Glasbake brand changed hands over many decades throughout the 20th century, finally coming to rest with the Jeanette Glass Company in the 1960s, which was when this loaf pan was made.
Sized at 1 1/2 quarts, this is a traditional size most often used for baking bread or meatloaf. Solid white in color, it's a classic addition to your kitchen or your Glasbake collection and a reliable helper in the kitchen. Thanks to its simple streamlined design, it never goes out of style and always makes food look look appetizing and appealing whether its just coming out of the oven, headed to the table or sitting pretty in the fridge.
