You wouldn't suspect that all the info regarding the fishes of the sea - how to buy them - how to clean them -how to cook them - how -to serve them would fit neatly into a 216-page cookbook, but here Arthur Hawkins manages to do just that. Published in 1970, The Complete Seafood Cookbook covers over 300 recipes and several informative how-to chapters that will turn any aspiring home cook into an expert in no time. 

This cookbook is particularly interesting in that Arthiur illustrated it himself, and included personal stories about many of the recipes to help give them context and color. It also encourages a range of cooking styles that go beyond the typical pan-searing or grilling methods that many cooks rely on when preparing fresh fish. 

Besides being a cookbook author of over half a dozen other subjects, Arthur was also an art director and a graphic designer, so he approaches food with a creative sensibility and artistic flair. His cookbooks are known for their concise instruction, gourmet approach, and international flavor making them just as visually enticing as they are appetizing.

{CONDITION}

In good vintage condition, the dust jacket did a great job of keeping the coverboards and interior pages clean and bright, but it sustained a little wear and tear itself in doing so. The jacket has been reinforced with acid-free paper to preserve its original integrity and artistic design. There is some tea-colored staining on the dust jacket - mostly on the bottom part of the spine section and the interior of the back flap. There is one small light cooking spot on one interior page in the margin. and the front inside cover contains some light foxing. Other than that this cookbook is in great shape with a tight spine and all pages intact. Please see photos.
