{HISTORY}

Sometimes your culinary explorations take you beyond the confines of the kitchen and into the great outdoors for a big cooking adventure. In such cases, the occasion calls for a cheerful companion like this sunny yellow vintage suitcase made in Sardis, Mississippi sometime around the 1960's or 1970's. Part of Roper's Starflite Softcover series, it features a leatherette exterior, cloth interior, two latches and a customizable combination lock. 

The thing we love best about this retro suitcase is it's color. Full of sunshine and joy, it is a shade of yellow that could best be defined as bright mustard or ripe pineapple on the outside and pastel lemon yellow on the inside. Whether you are a collector of vintage luggage for display or an intrepid traveler on the lookout for a unique suitcase, this rare charmer will brighten up your space (and your heart) with stylish enthusiasm. 

In fabulous vintage condition, it has traveled the decades well.  It's only major flaw is the combination lock latch which remains in the open state. It looks as if a previous owner cut the latch in order to get into the case. Perhaps they too, forgot their own combination on the combination pad:) Thanks to the other two latches though, this suitcase still closes securely.

{CONDITION}

On the outside, there are a few light scuff marks and color toning,  a few ripped threads on the exterior seams and a 1/4" inch tear in the leatherette on one side. The latches operate smoothly and securely close the suitcase, but the combination lock latch remains in the open position.  In the interior is in near flawless condition with just a couple of fabric holes in two of the gathered pockets.The outside contains some very minor light scuff marks and color toning in some spots due to age and use. The interior pocket on the back wall has a hole in the fabric and a couple of small errant rust marks. Otherwise fabric is very clean and in great condition! Please see photos.
