{HISTORY}

Popping up in the kitchen garden this spring, thi mismatched set of berry bowls and bread plate bring vintage restaurant-ware nostalgia home to your table. Each piece features a unique floral arrangement ready to greet the season and all your cooking adventures. Hard-to-find patterns these days, they were each made by three different potteries - Shenango, Buffalo and Jackson - and they feature a green, white and yellow color palette for complimentary styling.

There is lots to say about these three pieces so we'll take a look at their individual characteristics one by one..

The flowering dogwood berry bowl was made by Shenango between 1954-1963. It features a rolled rimrol edge and was part of their Northern Dogwood White pattern. The yellow center in the flowers matches the yellow rim of the companion berry bowl.

The yellow and white berry bowl was made by Buffalo China in 1957. It features a repeating leaf pattern in a shade most closely resembling dijon mustard which from a distance looks like an alternating pattern of small and large trees. The dots in the leaf pattern and the swag design underneath are complementary to the green dots in the wild rose plate.

The wild rose plate is very rare. It was made by Jackson China for the Albany Hotel & Restaurant Supply Company in Albany, Georgia.  Still in business today, the AHRSC has been providing dishware to restaurants around the country since the 1940s. Although it is unknown as to what dining venue this plate was a part of, it was made by Jackson China which operated between 1917 and 1987.  It features three big white wild roses with leaves and thorns and is stamped with both the Jackson mark and the Albany Hotel & Restaurant Supply Company mark. We've been researching this pattern for about five years now and have yet to find any other matching pieces, which makes it all the more fun for collectors.

In beautiful vintage condition, these pieces contain no chips, cracks or stains. They are bright and shiny inside and out. Please see photos.
