Just who exactly is this mystery woman with her kind face and her curly ringlets? 

As a reproduction wood-paneled portrait print, she could have been the subject of any mid-1800s artist, but she most resembles the work of French portrait painters of the mid-19th century.

This is the fun of unknown portraits - all those possibilities and all that daydreaming about who they may or may not have been.
