{HISTORY}

Even though this vintage cake decorating book was published in 1966, its roots go way back to Chicago in the 1920s. That's the decade when the Wilton School of Cake Decorating was born with a mission to teach pastry chefs and home bakers the beautiful art of confectionary design. Still in operation today, the school was an immediate success, churning out talented cake decorators from around the world. The Wilton family also sold tools, forms, fabrics, and embellishments for unique cake designs which helped expand their brand and promote their commitment to building aesthetically pleasing cakes. Bakery books, how-to manuals, and decorating DIY guides soon followed.
