{HISTORY}
Two sets of gorgeous floral plates make up this vintage collection of rare 1930s and 1940s mix-and-match china. Featuring dinner plates from legendary English ceramic artist Clarice Cliff for Royal Staffordshire that were made in England in the 1930s, and salad plates from Crown Potteries made in America in the 1940s, this set is an international affair of pretty springtime flowers. Handpicked and curated for its Easter egg color palette this combination is both a unique blend of design and color arrangement.
Clarice Cliff was a legend in the ceramics world from the 1920s to the 1960s. During her long career, she designing hundreds of eclectic pieces that were admired by collectors the world over. Considered one of the most remarkable ceramic artists of the 20th century, Clarice is revered not only for her artistic merit but also her passion to find beauty in shapes, colors and designs that were considered very unusual in relation to other kitchenwares produced during her lifetime.
The hard to find pattern of the Crown Potteries Co salad plates were made in Ohio in July 1948. In practically brand new condition, their combination of spring pastel colors, embossed rim, and mint blue band are a fresh compliment to Clarice's Dimity pattern dinner plates.

{CONDITION}
Salad plates: There is a tiny chip (less than 1/8" inch long on the backside of one of the salad plates, which is not noticeable from the front. There is also one small scratch in the mint blue band section of one of the plates that measures 1/4" inch long. Both dishes contain beautiful light crazing
Dinner Plates: There is one small chip on the backside of one of the plates that measures 1/2" inch in size and cannot be seen from the front. Some very, very light rub marks on the plate swirl section of both plates, but no rub marks on the flowers. These are very minor flaws, barely noticeable, as the plates overall are in lovely vintage condition.

Dinner plates measure 10" inches in diameter. Salad plates measure 7.25" inches in diameter.
