{HISTORY}
Embellished with a lacy gold rim and colorful imagery of a Baltimore Oriole perched above a bouquet of black-eyed susans, this vintage 1960s souvenir plate is a beauty in both form and function. Although it is unmarked on the back it was made by American Ironstone in the mid-20th century as part of the tourism gift market. About 75% of Americans owned cars in the 1950s which made state-to-state road trips a super fun way to travel around our big country. To commemorate such jolly travels, souvenir plates of places visited became a popular display and conversation pieces once travelers returned back home. Today these charming plates hold equal appeal as a fun way to commemorate special experiences in your own life.
