Libbey Spring Wheat Juice Carafe - Vintage 1970s Green Wheat Grass Glass
The perfect juice canister for your perfect juice creation.
{HISTORY}
Traveling straight from the 1970's this vintage wheatgrass juice jar was made by Libbey for the Spring Wheat pattern. As one of the oldest glass manufacturers in America, Libbey's story is pretty fabulous. Originally, it began as the New England Glass Company based in Massachusetts in 1818, but by the end of the century the company found themselves in a new location - Toldeo, OH and with a new name The Libbey Glass Company. As true pioneers and innovators from the beginning (they were the first to automatically produce light bulbs in the early 1900's) their insight into technologically advanced design fueled the brand through a century's worth of success. By the 1990's they were incorporating specially equipped computers to handle glass design on the production line.
This Spring Wheat juice canister originally was part of a series of glassware that included a pitcher, tumbler glasses, juice glasses and tall beverage glasses And it came in two colors - Spring Wheat (which is this green version) and Golden Wheat (a yellow version). Spring Wheat is the harder of the two colors to find now, making this juice carafe a bit of a rairity. We can understand why - it's too pretty to part with!
