La Cigales French Cotton Rooster Table Runner - 16x69 Woven in Provence
{HISTORY}
Let the international feasting begin! This gorgeous cotton farmhouse tablecloth features fabric woven in Provence and sewn in Portugal for the American textile company, La Cigales, based in Pennsylvania.
Family-run, with the sweetest origin story of how one couple traded tires for textiles, La Cigales is an almost-vintage French textile import company that started in 1999. Working with French mills, makers, weavers, and sewers in the Provence area with fabricators in both Portugal and Pennsylvania, La Cigales embraced the rich heritage of traditional French textiles using age-old techniques and designs in order to create beautiful, high-quality table linens for the American market.
This table runner features four roosters, the national hospitality symbol of the French country kitchen, alongside trailing florals in shades of red, green, and ecru. Sized at 16.5" inches (width) x 69" inches (length), this pattern is known as their Chante Clair tapestry runner and is still available from La Cigale today.
Typically, here In The Vintage Kitchen, we do not tend to sell linens that are still being manufactured today, but in this case, the methods used to make this runner are centuries old, and therefore, makes it timeless in its beauty and craftsmanship. There are two sets of small flaws in this runner, so please be sure to read the condition notes and view all photos.
Comprising a color palette of ecru, red brick, olive green, Dijon, spring green, and pumpkin, this is a beautiful table runner for autumn and the Thanksgiving holiday, but also looks lovely year-round thanks to the classic symbolism of chickens in the kitchen.

{CONDITION}
Bright in color palette and very clean, this cotton/polyester blend fabric is in beautiful condition with strong stitching and tight threadwork. There are no holes, rips, or loose areas, but there are seven light splatter spot stains in the center of the tablecloth located on opposite sides of the ecru florals. We have not professionally cleaned this linen, so perhaps, if you are spot remover wizard the splatters could be worked out completely.
We have called out the spots in one photo and included two more photos of them so that you can see how they are not very noticeable given the natural shadowy draping of the fabric. The largest of these spots is 1/4" inch in diameter; all the rest are much smaller. Also, given the placements of these spots, they are easily covered with floral centerpieces, serving bowls, candles, or other objects, so if you are a tablescape stylist or a food photographer, these little flaws will help direct your creativity. If you are an embroiderer, these spots can also be covered over with an extension of the botanical designs.
