Julia Child's Menu Cookbook - 1991 First Edition Oversized
... we were a team, a family of intimates during the shooting of these Company shows. We worked intensely, ate wonderfully, and had a very good as well as always interesting time. Julia Child, 1991
What's for dinner on Sunday night? Corned beef with steamed vegetables! What can we bring to the next picnic? Gazpacho salad! What should we make for Aunt Milly's 89th birthday? Los Gatos Gateau Cake! Thanks to Julia Child and her 1991 menu cookbook you'll have fresh vintage inspiration for all sorts of upcoming dinner parties and gatherings.
The best thing about Julia's cookbooks is the thorough way in which she presents information. Here, in this 489-page book, Julia does not disappoint. Part cookbook, part memoir, part fun fact storytelling adventure and part cooking tutor, Julia sets you up for success from the first recipe (Chesapeake Lump Crabmeat Appetizer) forward.
A combination of two of her previous cookbooks, Julia Child and Company and Julia Child and More Company which were companions to her television shows of the same titles, this 1991 edition was the first time that Julia combined these previous two books into one to give cooks, readers and watchers a full bouquet of recipes ready for entertaining.
Detailed instructions follow under Julia's expert guidance and are assisted by color photographs and line drawings so that all confusion is eliminated and your chance of becoming an expert is pretty likely. In addition to explaining steps for the preparation of each recipe, Julia also includes a pantry staple list, marketing instructions, wine pairings and a list of needed equipment for each recipe. And as Julia always promises, there'll be plenty of fun and good food along the way.
