Spring is here, so says this antique bowl.

Brimming with details that celebrate the season of growth and rebirth, there is a lot to appreciate when it comes to the overall composition of this pretty serving piece. Let's look...

First, there are those little dazzlers - the sweet family of chicks, five in total, that have been airbrushed onto the shoulder of the bowl. Next comes the colorful bouquet of pansy flowers tumbling out from the center. A lustreware wash of pale peach and sage gives the bowl a sparkling shine and highlights the octagonal shape. Finally, the last bit of flourish is a barely there embossed lace edge enhanced with art deco diamonds and stripes. 

Everyone has heard of an Easter basket, but how about an Easter bowl?  This one would look so pretty lined with moss as a base to display hand-dyed Easter eggs or rainbow-colored farm eggs straight from the coop.  

Pastel in color, shimmering in aesthetic, and unique in composition, this bowl is unmarked as to maker or manufacturer but if we had to guess as to its origin story we suspect it was made in Germany in the 1920s/1930s era based on similar serving pieces that have come through the shop in the past.

{CONDITION}

In lovely antique condition, this bowl contains no chips, cracks or staining. The pansy flowers show some areas of wear in a few spots. both the florals and the chick stencils are crisp and clear. Please see photos.
